For this project, I created a short film about a guy whose shoelace keeps coming untied throughout the day. I started with storyboarding and scripting the story, then planning out my shots and schedule. The middle sequence of the character tying his shoe many times over could have been repetitive, but used the “arrive late, leave early” technique and was able to chop the sequence to make it feel like it was moving a lot faster than it was. I then added some audio and played with volume and a suppression feature to help add the loud music heard outside of the car. I then placed my graphics and credits into the sequence. Lighting each scene was challenging, but using a ring light and a white poster board to brighten it.
